Prayer For True Devotion to God

November 19, 2023

Master of the world, Lord who is all-powerful, "As the deer longs for brooks of water, so my soul longs for You, O God! My soul thirsts for God, for the living God!" Let it be Your will, Master and King of the sky, the land, and the sea, and the spiritual realms and physical realms, that I should merit to have true devotion to You, God the King, and may I merit, in the merit of Rabbi Eliezer Berland son of Etia, and Rabbi Nachman son of Simcha and son of Feiga of blessed memory, to truly serve You God and get close to You with true devotion and yearning for Your presence. May You God bring close Your presence to me, which is the sweetest thing, the most blessed thing, and may I merit to fulfill, "The end of the matter, all having been heard: fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole [purpose of] man." May I merit, God, to meditate on Your service and be a servant to do Your will day and night, all the days of my life, as it says, "Praiseworthy is the man who walked not in the counsel of the wicked, and stood not in the path of sinners, and sat not in the dwelling of scoffers, but his desire is in the instruction of the Lord, and in his instruction he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree deeply rooted alongside brooks of water, that yields its fruit in its season and does not wither. Not so the wicked; rather, they are like the chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous, for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, while the way of the wicked will perish." Please, Lord, let me truly merit to have devotion and holy service to You, and that I should merit to be like our holy master Rabbi Nachman of Breslev. May You let me to be drawn away from all the vanities of this world, and to connect to You, the Eternal, and may I merit to a life of connection to You every second of every day, all the days. "May only goodness and kindness pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord for long days." May I merit to always "serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyous song." Indeed, "Bless the Lord, O my soul." Praise Yah.
